Engine/Graphics Programmer ( H/F)
Apply : jobs@shirogames.com
Shiro Games are the creators of the tactical RPG Wartales, the 4X Dune : Spice Wars and the multi million seller Northgard. Since 2012, we have created games that personally appeal to us instead of chasing current trends, with small development teams. We work fast, but we never crunch.
At Shiro Games we have full control over our technical stack, including the open-source game engine Heaps and editor Hide, of which we are the main contributors. This allows us to ship ambitious games with small teams without overtime and without ever being blocked by third party technology.

- Research, develop and maintain engine features and tools according to the needs of our current and future projects
- Work on various game engine aspects: rendering, animation systems, LOD, etc…
- Write and improve game-specific shaders working hand-do-hand with artists
- Work closely with game programmers on the proper usage and integration of engine features
- Perform CPU and GPU profiling and optimizations
- Be a direct contributor to the look and overall quality of our games
Desired Skills :
- Deep knowledge of the implementation details of at least one game engine
- Strong programming skills, with proficiency in at least one strongly-typed language (C#, C++, Typescript…)
- Professional experience working as an engine or graphics programmer, or convincing personal projects in this domain
- Comfortable in at least one shader language (HLSL/GLSL)
- Comfortable prototyping and working in autonomy with an iterative development process
- Interest in art creation pipelines and technical art a plus
